Our mission is to speak the truth to power
Inside Edge's purpose is to help power developers, investors, service providers and asset managers to succeed in their power investments and divestments.
We do this by providing insight and implementing good systems and processes when setting up, developing, running and divesting from power generation assets. How to best structure then implement an operating model that navigates competing interests and incentivises efficient cooperation.
We anticipate and address commercial problems so that suppliers, investors, partners and operators structure, co-operate and succeed in power generation.

*over 15 years in the Power Industry. Inside Edge launched in January 2025
Niall Thorburn set up Inside Edge to help developers, investors, lenders, insurers, operators set up and run their power generation partnerships in way that will succeed.
The growth in renewables to meet future power demand relies on successful collaboration and co-operation between all parties financial invested in renewable power generation.
However, power generation is complex. Too often, a JV partnership is set up with an insufficient operating model. Without a way of working and commitment to co-operation that works for all, the investment can leave a bitter taste, or worse, end in direct conflict. Inside Edge was born out of a passion to fix this.
Niall Thorburn will share the inside edge crafted from 15 years negotiating how power assets will operate and how the JV partnerships will work for the following offshore wind farms and power stations:
-
UK: Hornsea 1, Hornsea 2, West of Duddon Sands, London Array, Race Bank
-
USA: South Fork, Revolution, Sunrise
-
Taiwan: Formosa 1 (phase 2), Changhua 1 & 2, Changhua 22 & 4
-
Netherlands: Borssele 1 & 2
-
Germany: Gode Wind 3
-
Poland: Baltica 2
-
Ireland: Whitegate
